In October 2018, Maison Kitsune opened a flagship store located on Garosugil, Sinsadong, Seoul. While I was on a school field trip to Korea, I visited the store and a cafe inside the store!
It was at night around 7pm when I visited the store, but place was crowded with many people. There was a passage to the store. After the passage, I could see the store made up of wood and yellowish light coming out of the store. Before going inside, I took a photo at a signage, “Cafe Kitsune”, emitting neon light. Outside the store and the cafe was a garden where you can sit down and talk or hang around and take photos. There were many sculptures of a Maison Kitsune’s fox. When I entered into the store, I could see the cafe selling some drinks and breads. The building consists of three stories. On the first story, there is a cafe and men’s wear. On the second story, there is men’s wear and accessories. On the third story, there is women’s wear, accessories and shoes.
While looking around the flagship store, I could see that they cared much about store display and tried to get engaged with their customers. For me, an overall image of the store is tidy and calm like home. If you are planning to fly to Seoul, visit a flagship store of Maison Kitsune.
